Information

In the information section, we hope to provide you with a range of information about the SEN system.  As a service we recognise that the SEN system can be at times frustrating and hope the information provided in this section will help you to gain a better understanding of how the system operates and answer any questions you may have.

The Parent Partnership Service produces a range of leaflets which are available free to download (see Related Downloads on the right) or a hard copy can be requested by contacting the service.

Support
We recognise the difficulties and stresses involved in bringing up a child with Special Educational Needs.  We know that parents want to play a part in the education process of their child.

We can offer support in a variety of ways:-

  • Helping you to understand letters and reports
  • Helping you to fill in forms and write letters
  • Helping you prepare for meetings
  • Giving support by attending meetings with you

For information on other services available to you see the Family Services Directory in Related Links.  You could also look at Starting Point which is a Resource Directory for Parents/Carers & Disabled Children, and it aims to provide information about services that are available for disabled children and young people and their families in the Wakefield district.  The directory can be viewed in Related Downloads.
