Children's Centres

No descriptionWakefield's Children’s Centres offer access to a range of support for families with children under 5.

Services that these Children’s Centres offer give children the best start in life and help them to reach their potential – and parents benefit too.

They also offer a range of services which will vary from time to time, including:

  • Support for parents – including advice on parenting, local childcare options and access to specialist services for families.
  • Child and family health services – ranging from health screening and health visitor services to breastfeeding support.
  • Helping parents into work – with links to Jobcentre Plus and training.
  • Integrated Childcare and Early Education 0-5 on site or through linked providers.

New Children's Centres

Three new Children's Centres are now open in Wakefield.  Small Steps Children's Centre in Wrenthorpe, Forest Wood Children's Centre in Crigglestone and Apple Tree Children's Centre in Horbury.
